Students learn the basics of drawing while experimenting with new media including design-quality markers, colored pencils, chalk and oil pastel, watercolor, and much more.  This guided step-by-step method improves visual perception skills by breaking down the subject matter for young children to see and follow along with.  Parents and teachers report an improvement in fine motor skill development as well as handwriting.

THEME: Famous Authors and Illustrators
During the first class of each session, students will write a story together.  The story will then be spiral-bound into a book and each week students will illustrate one page in a different illustrator's style.  Students will be exposed to well-known illustrators such as Eric Carle, Lois Ehlert, Tomie dePaola, Jan Brett, Leo Lionni, Felicia Bond, and many more.  The end result each semester will be beautiful keepsake that will be treasured for years to come.
